Meredith's Musings...
Why hello again my lovely little gremlins. I promised you some info about what was going on here, and I will follow through on that.
Saturday was of course the day of my arrival. Since it was so beautiful, my dad and I decided right away to go for a walk around the inner harbour and downtown. On Sunday, Chinese New Year celebrations were happening in Chinatown so we went to watch the lion dances and the parade. Monday, we went out for a damn good lunch and to two IMAX shows. Those were entitled "Greece: Mysteries from the Past" and "Secrets of the Nile." The Nile one was especially good, as it featured a team of people who set out to be the first in history to raft the entire Nile from the tip of the Blue Nile to the Mediterranian Sea. They met almost certain death several times, with very narrow escapes. Ummm... Tuesday. Tuesday I went shopping for Sarah's belated birthday presents. On Government Street, which is the one with the cool stores. Haha, I had a conversation with this really cool gay store clerk. He was asking me about this inflatable palm tree for a window display... ""What do you figure? Does this need to be inflated a little more?" "Yeah, it's lookin' a little flaccid." "Flaccid! That's the perfect word for it! I had been trying to figure out the right adjective. *inflates* There, much more erect." We talked a bit more, but that might give away a bit too much to Sarah, so... Tuesday evening we went out for the best Chinese food I've ever had. My grandparents found this place walking distance from there condo years ago, went there once and have never gotten Chinese anywhere else since. Every year my dad and I come out, we go there. I made sure to have very small meals that day so that I could have two plates full at dinner
. Anytime you're in Victoria and want Chinese, the Dragon Gate is the place to go. Today my dad and I went for breakfast nearby, and then to see my Great Uncle Al. My last great uncle who isn't dead
. And I've been watching soooooo much curling. I'm getting sick of it.
That's all I've got.
